Finland Bt63 rice found in rice vermicelli

On 12 January 2009, the Finnish authorities notified other EU member states that GM rice Bt63 had been found in rice vermicelli products imported from Hong Kong.(RASFF number 2009.0026)

Then, on 31 August, Finish border authorities prevented the importation of rice noodles from China as they were found to contain Bt63, an unauthorised genetically modified rice. They had been imported into Finland via the UK. (RASFF number 2009.BOK)
